Most people have heard of yeast infections but they mistakenly think it is only a female organ issue. This is not true! Yeast can invade your whole system causing a variety of symptoms such as fatigue, kidney problems, muscle weakness, sleep disorders, anxiety, digestive complaints, constipation, skin complaints such as rashes, hives and itching, diminished sex drive, frequent headaches, chemical sensitivities, depression, brain-fog, muscle and joint pain just to name a few.
To see if you may have undiagnosed candida take our quiz.
Candida albicans yeast (as well as several other strains of candida) overgrowth is frequently a significant underlying, if not causative, factor in so many of today's most common health disorders.
Candida albicans, a naturally occurring strain of yeast, occupies a place in the normal microbial ecology of the human intestinal environment, as an organism responsible for the neutralization of certain species of harmful gut bacteria. Candida albicans yeast is found in low concentrations in healthy intestinal systems, where it performs its normal, health promoting functions assisting in the maintenance of ideal intestinal flora levels.
Candida infection can be successfully treated, but a rational approach to candida treatment must start with a healthy diet and certain life-style modification in most cases. If you've been trying to treat your yeast with taking sugar and starchy carbohydrates out of your diet you've probably been unsuccessful. Yeast feeds on sugar so if you have sugar in your diet you are feeding the source of the health problem you may have.(see anti-candida diet)
Contributing Factors to candida are: Use of oral contraceptives, steroids, antacids, anti-ulcer medications, or frequent or long-term use of antibiotics, high-sugar diets, pregnancy(due to hormonal imbalances), smoking, food allergies, and diabetes.
There is help for candida! You need to eliminate the cause!
